The Houston Texans are looking to improve their pass rush as they deal with injury setbacks. On August 22, KPRC 2's Aaron Wilson reported that the team worked out Devean Deal, a defensive end who went undrafted and played at TCU, after previously spending time with the Seattle Seahawks this spring.
During his college tenure, Deal recorded 176 total tackles and 13.0 sacks while playing for TCU and Tulane. The Texans have recently signed linebacker Caleb Johnson but are still seeking ways to bolster their roster due to several injury challenges. Key players such as Jadeveon Clowney and Logan Hall are currently unavailable, although the reasons for their absences remain unspecified.
The Texans have also added veteran receivers Sterling Shepard and Zay Jones, while linebacker K.C. Ossai has been placed on injured reserve. As the team prepares for the upcoming season, they aim to resolve their injury concerns and enhance their defensive lineup before facing the Buffalo Bills. Although Deal is being considered as a possible addition, he has not yet been signed by the Texans.
