DJ Lagway is doubtful for Baylor's Week 3 game against Louisiana Tech, leaving junior Nate Bennett positioned to start again at quarterback. Lagway injured his ankle in Baylor's season-opening loss to Auburn after transferring from Florida and playing in that game. The injury then kept him out of the win over Prairie View A&M.
Earlier this week, coach Dave Aranda said Lagway took part in a Monday walkthrough and would be evaluated through his practice work. The injury is not expected to sideline him for a month or more, though it remains uncertain whether he could play in an emergency against Louisiana Tech. Baylor hopes Lagway will be available for its Big 12 opener against Colorado next Saturday.
Bennett's first start produced 314 passing yards on 26 completions in 34 attempts, along with three touchdown throws. He gained 13 yards on the ground and scored once rushing, but also had two interceptions. Edward Griffin is listed as QB2 on the depth chart, followed by Quinn Murphy as QB3.
