North Texas will play nine home games at Denton's Super Pit as part of a 13-game nonconference men's basketball schedule for 2026-27, released by University of North Texas Athletics and second-year coach Daniyal Robinson. The Mean Green opens Nov. 2 against Southwest Christian, then hosts McNeese on Nov. 5, South Alabama on Nov. 14 and Santa Clara on Nov. 11.
McNeese and Santa Clara played in the 2025-26 NCAA Tournament, while South Alabama appeared in the NIT. Overall, the schedule has three NCAA Tournament opponents and two NIT teams from last season.
The first road contest is Nov. 20 at App State in Boone, North Carolina. North Texas then heads to Idaho Falls, Idaho, for the Snake Rivers Invitational, scheduled Nov. 27-29, with Drake, North Dakota State and Boise State listed as opponents. The Mean Green's final six nonconference games return it to Texas, including five in Denton.
Bradley visits Dec. 4, followed by Mississippi Valley State on Dec. 6. Texas State is scheduled for Dec. 13 at Dickies Arena in Fort Worth during the Coast-to-Coast Challenge, the program's second straight appearance in the event.
Winthrop, Bethune-Cookman and the University of the Southwest complete the schedule at home on Dec. 16, Dec. 20 and Dec. 22. The American Conference schedule is expected later.
