Kenneth Murray worked out for the Houston Texans as the team considers linebacker options following Henry To'oTo'o's shoulder injury. Murray did not sign with Houston after the visit. To'oTo'o was placed on injured reserve and is expected to miss several months, while linebacker Jamal Hill was shifted from the practice squad to the active roster.
Murray, 27, was an All-American at Oklahoma before the Los Angeles Chargers selected him 23rd overall in 2020. He joined the Tennessee Titans in 2024 and led the team in tackles. During the next offseason, Dallas acquired him from Tennessee for two draft picks.
Murray started every one of the Cowboys' 16 games last season. He produced 81 tackles, four tackles for loss, two passes defended, one sack and one fumble recovery, finishing second on Dallas in tackles. Since the offseason began, he has visited the Miami Dolphins and New York Giants for workouts as well.
Houston could consider him for practice-squad depth and game-day elevations, but no deal was reported. The Texans are scheduled to host the Cincinnati Bengals Sunday at Reliant Stadium, with kickoff set for noon on CBS.
