Texas A&M Aggies head coach Mike Elko has announced that wide receiver Madden Williams will be out for the entire 2026 season following a lower-body injury sustained during practice. Williams will need surgery to address the injury.
He was not in uniform for the season opener against Missouri State, joining safety Tawfiq Byard on the sidelines. Williams is the third wide receiver to be ruled out before the season begins, adding to the Aggies' challenges in the receiving corps.
Earlier in fall camp, Jonah Wilson left the roster after transferring from Houston, and Jerome Myles was also dismissed from the program due to personal reasons. Myles, a former five-star recruit, missed the entire 2025 season due to injury.
In light of Williams' absence, Texas A&M will depend on its remaining wide receivers, including Mario Craver, Isaiah Horton, and Ashton Bethel-Roman. True freshman Aaron Gregory made a notable contribution in the opener, catching a 15-yard touchdown pass and totaling two receptions for 22 yards. Kelshaun Johnson recorded three catches for 25 yards, while TK Norman did not have any receptions.
The team plans to finalize its wide receiver depth chart in the upcoming games before facing LSU in Baton Rouge.
