Ukrainian Prime Minister Sergii Koretskyi and Acting Defense Minister Yevhenii Khmara held discussions with leadership at Raytheon regarding the supply of air defense missiles. The meeting focused on the Patriot missile system and involved the company’s Vice President for Land and Air Defense as well as the CEO of Raytheon Ukraine.
Koretskyi shared details of the encounter on Facebook, stating that the primary objective was to increase the volume of missiles for Patriot systems quickly before the winter season. He noted that the parties also talked about expanding production capabilities and strengthening Ukraine’s domestic defense industry.
"Our goal is not only to meet Ukraine's needs but also to integrate Ukrainian defense capabilities into the global security system," Koretskyi wrote in his post.
A significant portion of the conversation centered on the joint manufacturing of air defense systems. The Ukrainian government referenced a previous discussion between the Presidents of Ukraine and the United States in Ankara, where the American side proposed practical steps for this initiative. Koretskyi emphasized that the Ukrainian government intends to take all necessary actions to launch this work as soon as possible.
In his social media update, the Prime Minister also expressed gratitude to the United States for its continued support of Ukraine. This meeting follows other recent diplomatic efforts by Koretskyi, including talks with the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development regarding financial support projects for the country.
