Richardson ISD said its Math Science Technology Magnet has been recognized as an Apple Distinguished School for 2026-2029, marking the second time the campus has earned the designation.
In a Sept. 16 announcement, the district said MST was selected for using Apple technology in innovative ways through STEM integration and purposeful technology experiences. The school previously held the designation for 2022-2025.
According to Richardson ISD, Apple Distinguished Schools are centers of innovation, leadership and educational excellence that use Apple technology to inspire creativity, collaboration and critical thinking, with documented academic results.
MST Magnet Principal Dr. Lauren Bolack said in the district's announcement that technology at MST is a tool that empowers students to create, collaborate, problem-solve and bring ideas to life. Bolack said earning a second Apple Distinguished School recognition celebrates teachers' commitment to meaningful learning experiences and students' ability to dream, design and do.
The district said each MST student uses an assigned iPad with apps and technology woven through portions of the K-6 curriculum, supported by teachers trained to integrate technology thoughtfully. MST is home to four Apple Distinguished Educators and five Apple Learning Coaches who help staff integrate Apple devices into daily lessons under a "Coaching Action Plan," Richardson ISD said.
