Baylor University has officially added Gao Duanrui to its women's tennis roster for the 2026-27 season. Head coach Joey Scrivano praised Duanrui's strong work ethic, mental resilience, and commitment to growth.
Duanrui, from Tianjin, China, has reached career-high rankings of No. 1,186 in singles and No. 1,435 in doubles on the WTA tour. She has recorded 52 singles wins, with significant victories at the 2026 M15 Tianjin and the 2025 W15 Luan and Maanshan tournaments.
In doubles, she has made five quarterfinal appearances, including at the 2026 W15 Tianjin and three events at the 2025 W15 Luan, as well as a quarterfinal finish at the 2025 W15 Maanshan.
Last season, the Baylor women's tennis team finished ranked No. 34 in the ITA Year-End team rankings, marking their 27th NCAA Tournament appearance and 19th time advancing to the second round. The team also saw four players earn All-Big 12 selections, achieved three ranked victories, and had two players qualify for the NCAA Singles and Doubles Championships.
