A Deciding Blast in Extra Innings
The Houston Astros defeated the Seattle Mariners 10-7 on Saturday, August 15, 2026, at Daikin Park in Houston, Texas. The decisive moment came in the bottom of the 10th inning when Yordan Walker hit a 405-foot home run to left field. That three-run blast scored Jose Altuve and Adolis Garcia, giving Houston the lead it would not relinquish.

Early Momentum Shifts

Astros Mount Comeback
Houston began its offensive surge in the sixth inning. Robles singled to left field, allowing Naylor to score and making it 3-5. The Astros continued to chip away at the lead in the eighth inning.
Donovan grounded out to shortstop, scoring Rodríguez, and Rodden hit a ground rule double, scoring We. Wilson to tie the game at 5-5. The 10th inning proved decisive.
Robles tripled to center field to score Donovan, and Rodden’s sacrifice fly to left field scored Robles, giving Houston a 7-5 lead. Paredes singled to center field to score Peña, and Varsho singled to left field to score Allen and move Altuve to second base. Walker’s final home run closed out the game with the final score of 10-7.
Pitching Performance
Enyel De Los Santos earned the win, pitching one inning of relief with one hit, one earned run, and no walks. For the Mariners, George Kirby started, pitching 4.2 innings while allowing eight hits and five earned runs on three walks and two strikeouts. Michael Rucker, Gabe Speier, and Eduard Bazardo combined for three scoreless innings of relief.
Andres Munoz took the loss, pitching 0.2 innings while allowing four hits and four earned runs. Peter Lambert started for Houston, pitching five innings with four hits, two earned runs, two walks, and six strikeouts. Bennett Sousa, Steven Okert, Bryan Abreu, and Josh Hader provided scoreless or low-run relief innings for the Astros.
