The Houston Texans have made significant roster adjustments due to injuries sustained during their preseason game against the Los Angeles Chargers. Quarterback Graham Mertz has been placed on the Reserve/Injured list following a knee injury confirmed by an MRI, which occurred just before halftime.

Rookie running back Joshua Pitsenberger has also been added to the injured reserve due to an ankle injury sustained near the end of the game.

Prior to this game, the Texans were already managing a number of injuries, including Ja'Marcus Ingram with a shoulder issue, Collin Wright dealing with a soft tissue strain, and Jake Hansen suffering from an ankle injury. Despite these challenges, the team has largely maintained its starting lineup, apart from linebacker E.J. Speed, who was injured earlier in the offseason.

Head coach DeMeco Ryans and his staff will closely assess their options as they continue to navigate roster changes throughout training camp. Further updates regarding additional roster moves are expected as the Texans evaluate the impact of these injuries on their upcoming games.
