The Texas Rangers overcame an early deficit with timely power, defeating the Oakland Athletics 5-3 in Sacramento. Josh Jung delivered the decisive blow in the sixth inning, launching a four-outside-the-park home run that shifted the momentum entirely to the visiting side.
Jung’s blast traveled 421 feet into the left-center field gap. The shot scored Josh Smith, who had reached base via a single earlier in the frame. This two-run homer erased the Athletics' lead and provided the Rangers with their first advantage of the contest.
Early Scoring Struggles
Oakland jumped out to a 3-1 lead by the middle innings thanks to strong offensive production against Texas starter MacKenzie Gore. In the second inning, Matt Olson homered to left field, measuring 341 feet. The home run scored Zack Gelof and Seth Brown, giving the A's an early advantage.
