Offensive guard Shadre Hurst has earned a spot on the Preseason AP All-American First-Team, as announced by the University of Houston Football program. This accolade highlights his strong performance and contributions to the team.
Earlier this month, Hurst was also recognized on the Preseason Watch Lists for both the Lombardi Trophy and the Outland Trophy. He has previously worked with head coach Willie Fritz and offensive line coach Eman Naghavi during his time at Tulane, where he achieved All-American status and received All-AAC honors in The American Conference.
Hurst has showcased his exceptional abilities on the field, achieving an 80.0 pass block grade since 2023, which places him second among active FBS offensive linemen. He has allowed just one sack over more than 1,200 passing snaps, demonstrating his reliability and effectiveness.
In 2025, he was recognized as the highest graded offensive lineman in the American Athletic Conference and ranked sixth nationally by Pro Football Focus (PFF). Hurst played a significant role in helping Tulane secure three conference titles from 2022 to 2025, maintaining an impressive record of only one sack allowed over four seasons.
The Cougars will kick off their new college football season on September 5, hosting Oregon State at TDECU Stadium, with the game starting at 11 a.m.
