Cade Cavalli delivered a masterclass on the mound, striking out 11 batters over six scoreless innings to secure a 6-0 win for the Washington Nationals over the Texas Rangers. The right-hander allowed just three hits and issued one walk, earning the decision in a performance that stretched his recent streak of high-strikeout outings. The Nationals’ relief corps maintained the no-hitter threat until the final frame, with Will Dion, Max Kranick, and Jake Bird combining for three scoreless innings to preserve the lead.

Offensive Breakthroughs

The Washington offense found its rhythm in the middle innings, building a decisive cushion. In the third inning, a 415-foot home run to center by Tena opened the scoring. The pressure mounted in the fourth when Ruiz singled to right, allowing Chaparro to cross the plate. Vivas extended the lead in the sixth with a groundout to the pitcher that brought Ruiz home. The game was effectively decided in the seventh, as Chaparro launched a 397-foot drive to left field. That home run drove in Ortiz and Tena, bringing the total to three runs off that single swing and closing the scoring at 6-0.

Ranger Struggles

Texas struggled to generate consistent contact against the Nationals' staff. Kumar Rocker took the loss after allowing six hits and two earned runs over five innings. The Rangers' bullpen managed to limit further damage, with Cole Winn, Peyton Gray, and Jordan Montgomery combining for five innings of relief. Although the Rangers managed some base hits, they were unable to sustain rallies against the Washington pitching staff, resulting in a blank line on the scoreboard for the entire game.

Final Records

The victory improves the Washington Nationals to a 61-67 record, while the Texas Rangers fall to 62-65. The game was played at Globe Life Field in Arlington, Texas, before a crowd of 23,963 fans. Cavalli’s 11 strikeouts marked a significant offensive suppression, highlighting the Nationals' ability to control the pace of the contest from start to finish.
